Why you don't show up on ChatGPT, and how to fix it.

2 min read · July 2026

The Problem

Ask ChatGPT “who's the best [your trade] in [your town].” Your business doesn't come up.

Why

ChatGPT doesn't use Google. It searches with Bing instead. Your Google Business Profile and your Google reviews never reach it. It's looking at completely different information than you'd expect.

Fix It

Three things, in order.

Claim Bing Plain-language copy Matching info everywhere
1

Go to bingplaces.com and claim your business. It's the Bing version of a Google Business Profile. Takes about 10 minutes, and almost nobody's done it.

2

Say exactly what you do and where, in plain words, on your website. Not “trusted experts since 1998.” Say “We fix water heaters in Mesa.”

3

Use the same business name, address, and phone number everywhere online. Google, Bing, your website, all of it, matching exactly.
